Well, I had quite the experience yesterday. I thought going to the vet one day and then having my friend Suzanne bring in a (cute but not my type) 4 month old golden retriever to "taunt" me the next day were bad enough. But yesterday goes down in the books as one of my most frightening days ever.
It was a nice day and the door was open. So, I decided to venture out - not too far, just to have a look at the world. Well, my world froze after that. I had had enough of the great outdoors and turned around to go back in. I was shocked to discover that the door was CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know what to do. So, as any self-respecting cat would do, I let out a blood curdling howl. And guess what? No one came. I did this two more times, getting more panicked by the minute. Apparantly the staff (my "friends"??) did not realize I was AWOL (although there were claims of hearing me - right). Thankfully, a customer came in and asked if they should let me in. I am so very grateful to that person - thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I spent most of the rest of the day nestled in my hut. It's pretty safe in there, unless someone steps on it. Then, I settled down on a nice soft chair in the office for a peaceful night's sleep. I don't think I'll leave my home (think "Wizard of Oz") for a very long time. There's no place like home....
